Direct Answer
Before ordering a containerized water treatment system, request a site-interface schedule and an installation layout. Confirm delivery access, equipment support, electrical supply, water connections, drainage and maintenance space before shipment.
A containerized package should not be assumed to arrive ready for operation without site work. The quotation and approved drawings should identify what the supplier provides and what the buyer or installation contractor must prepare.
Application Scenarios
For remote work sites and temporary camps, review the equipment delivery route and the services available at the proposed installation point.
For rural or distributed water-supply projects, identify who will complete site works and who will operate the equipment after commissioning.
These are project-planning scenarios, not claims of completed installations or guaranteed suitability.
Selection Factors
Match the Layout to the Actual Site
Provide a site plan showing the proposed equipment location, access routes and nearby structures. Ask the supplier to mark connection points and the space needed for operation and maintenance.
Review the installed arrangement, including external pipework and any separate storage or pressure-supply equipment. Do not assess access using the container outline alone.
Confirm Delivery and Placement Requirements
Request the equipment’s shipping dimensions, shipping weight and handling instructions. Identify who arranges unloading, lifting and final placement.
Have the responsible project parties confirm that the route, unloading area and equipment support are suitable for the supplied package. Do not select lifting equipment or foundations from a generic product illustration.
Define Utilities at the Package Boundary
Ask for a written utility schedule identifying the required electrical supply and water connections, together with the applicable operating conditions.
The supplier should distinguish requirements for normal operation from those for commissioning and maintenance. Any additional services should be listed where relevant to the selected configuration.
If information is preliminary, mark it as such and identify when final requirements will be issued.
Site-Readiness Checklist
| Item | Information to provide | Confirmation to request |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery access | Route and site-entry restrictions | Shipping dimensions and handling requirements |
| Equipment support | Proposed location and site conditions | Support arrangement and equipment loads |
| Electrical supply | Available site electrical information | Required supply, connection and responsibility boundary |
| Raw-water connection | Source location and available inlet conditions | Connection details and inlet requirements |
| Product-water connection | Delivery point and downstream arrangement | Outlet interface and agreed delivery conditions |
| Drainage and residual streams | Proposed collection or receiving arrangements | Stream identification, connection points and handling requirements |
| Maintenance access | Surrounding structures and available space | Required access and removal areas |
| Commissioning | Site personnel, utilities and planned readiness | Prerequisites, responsibilities and required records |
This table is a preparation framework, not a final installation specification.
Plan Drainage and Residual-Stream Connections
Request a list of the drain, wash-water and other residual-stream connections applicable to the proposed configuration. Ask the supplier to identify their purpose and provide the information needed for site planning.
Do not assume that every outlet can connect to the same drain or discharge directly at the site. The responsible project team should confirm collection, treatment or disposal arrangements against the stream characteristics and local requirements.
This checklist does not authorize any discharge route.
Agree on a Commissioning Readiness Check
Before arranging commissioning, ask the supplier and installation contractor to confirm the required prerequisites.
The readiness record should identify completed work, outstanding items and the party responsible for each item. Distinguish equipment delivery from installation completion and readiness to operate.
Where a prerequisite remains unresolved, record its effect on the planned work rather than marking the whole site as ready.
RFQ Checklist
Include:
- Project location and intended water use.
- Raw-water information and required treatment capacity.
- Available site plan and proposed equipment position.
- Delivery-route and unloading restrictions.
- Available electrical supply.
- Raw-water and product-water connection information.
- Proposed drainage and residual-stream arrangements.
- Separate storage and pressure-supply requirements, if applicable.
- Installation and commissioning responsibility boundaries.
- Site information that remains unconfirmed.
Customized based on raw water conditions, required capacity and project requirements.
FAQ
Does a containerized system eliminate site installation work?
Do not assume so. Confirm the foundations or supports, external connections, unloading and commissioning work required for the selected package.
Can foundations be prepared before final drawings are available?
Ask the supplier and the responsible site designer to identify which information must be finalized before construction. Do not treat a preliminary illustration as an approved installation drawing.
Does the treatment package include storage and pressure boosting?
The quotation must state this. Identify separate equipment and its interfaces where storage or pressure boosting is supplied outside the treatment package.
Who confirms that the site is ready?
Name the responsible parties in the project scope and agree on a readiness checklist. Equipment arrival alone is not confirmation that all installation prerequisites are complete.
